Judges welcomed students to the Robert E. Long Courtroom on April 11 before lawyers for a convicted drug trafficker argued that a search warrant in his case was constitutionally defective, while a separate case had attorneys seek a new civil trial for their client - a drunk bicyclist injured by a driver under the influence of marijuana. 

Jeremy Boissy L'18 recently completed a winter trimester residency with a U.S. District Court judge in his home state of New York. He shared insights of his experience for the first profile in an occasional series of stories on residency placements for Elon Law's Class of 2018.

David S. An article by Associate Professor Andy Haile in a forthcoming issue of the University of Richmond Law Review points to the 1993 Religious Freedom Restoration Act as a possible defense for conscientious objectors who refuse to serve in some, but not all, wars.

Several student groups have organized programs from Feb. 19-24 to showcase the impact and importance of diversity in the legal profession.

Representatives from Elon Law will be in Charlotte on Saturday, February 24, for the Mecklenburg County Bar's 12th annual program "designed to encourage diverse students to explore a career in the legal profession."
