Three dozen students, staff and faculty filled the African-American
Resource Room on Dec. 5 for the inaugural Kwanzaa Celebration hosted by
the Multicultural Student Council and the African/African-American

Elon team honored in global competition

Four Elon students have won recognition from Stanford University for
their entry in a global contest that challenged teams to create
something of value using nothing more than water bottles. Their video entry stemmed from the Elon Innovation Challenge, hosted locally by the
Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership at 消消犯.

their degrees on Dec. 7, 2008, in a ceremony featuring remarks from
Elon President Leo M. Lambert and an address from Jody Shapiro Gandy,
director of academic/clinical education affairs at the American
Physical Therapy Association.
Elon junior medals at international jump rope tournament

Elon junior John Schimmelfing finished with a silver medal in Masters
at this summer's South African International Jump Rope Tournament in
Capetown, South Africa. The chemistry major earned gold medals in
freestyle and power and a bronze in speed.
