There will be a university Memorial Service for Milena Alvarez at Holt Chapel on Tuesday, April 21, at 4:30 p.m. Milena was a freshman from Winston-Salem, N.C., who died earlier this month after a courageous battle with cancer.

Belk Library celebrated a milestone this month with the purchase of the university’s 300,000th volume, “Earth From Above,” a limited edition book that captures in dozens of colorful, detailed photos the different cultures and landscapes found around the globe.

The law touches every field of study, from biology to sociology to literature, and that interaction is the focus of the Center for Law and Humanities, a new academic initiative that teaches students to use lessons learned in the arts and sciences to examine the way legal questions affect society.
