In an effort to welcome new students to campus and through the support of an anonymous gift to the university, Elon Hillel this summer launched a pilot project where a trio of student interns reached out to dozens of incoming freshmen with the goal of engaging them in the growing Jewish life on campus.

Mathew Gendle, an associate professor in the Department of Psychology, along with colleagues at Cornell University and the University of California-Santa Cruz, has co-authored a chapter in the forthcoming book Gender Differences in Prenatal Substance Exposure to be published by the American Psychological Association and released on Oct. 15, 2011, as part of the APA’s Decade of Behavior book series.

The inaugural Staff Advisory Council has formed for the start of the 2011-12 academic year, with an executive committee recently elected at the council's first meeting.

The Class of 2015 gathered together for the first time “Under the Oaks” in front of the West residence hall on Aug. 26 as ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ administrators, faculty and student leaders welcomed them to the start of their academic journeys during New Student Convocation.

Elon faculty, staff and students have donated hundreds of school supplies that will benefit children in Alamance County and in Afghanistan.

The American Red Cross has provided ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ with information on ways the community can respond to devastation caused by Hurricane Irene.

A $1.2 million grant from the National Science Foundation will bolster the number of math and science teachers ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ graduates in the years ahead through a partnership with the Alamance-Burlington School System.

Towing their suitcases and luggage trunks, their televisions and their refrigerators, more than 1,400 students in the Class of 2015 arrived at ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ on Friday morning under a sweltering summer sun with humidity blanketing the region.

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ’s sales program in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business has been named a “Top University Sales Program for 2011” by the Sales Education Foundation, a component of The Dayton Foundation nonprofit established to promote university level educational programs in sales through the provision of scholarships, the creation of educational materials and other methods.

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ seniors Meg Anderson and Charley Costa won top honors last weekend at the 2010 Russ Berrie Institute National Sales Challenge at William Paterson University in New Jersey. Their achievements marked the second time in a month that students from the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business finished first in a national competition that attracted teams from some of the nation's leading business programs.
