Nov. 3: Autism: The Person, The Family, The Community

Please join Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, and the Special Education Department for a program dealing with Autism. We will be discussing the effects of autism on the person, the family and friends of the person, and the community that surrounds them from personal experiences. The event will be held in Whitley Auditorium on Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. We look forward to seeing you there!!

Informal meeting for Ms. Black and Gold – Jan. 10

The Men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. will be hosting an informal meeting for their Ms. Black and Gold Pageant. The informal meeting will be held in the Commuter Lounge at 3 p.m. on January 10, 2010. This meeting is an informational meeting that will describe our scholarship pageant, including information on a monetary first place prize, as well as other benefits.

We highly encourage all to come out and learn more information at our NON-BINDING meeting.

Join �þ��’s School of Law Black Law Student’s Association (BLSA) and the Multicultural Center in a panel discussion to learn more. Come have all your questions answered in regards to admission requirements, LSAT preparation, financing, curriculum, and law school environment from a multicultural perspective. The discussion will start promptly at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2009 in Lindner Hall room 208.

We will be providing information regarding the chartering of a College Student Division of BLSA here at �þ��. You will not want to miss this great opportunity!

Service opportunity with Allied Church of Burlington Nov. 17

The men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., will be hosting a community service trip to the Allied Church of Burlington on Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 5-7pm.

We will be building beds for the homeless to sleep in during the cold months. Vans will be provided for those interested to attend. Please RSVP for a ride by Friday, Nov. 13, by emailing Evan Glover at eglover2@elon.edu.

Spiritual Life in College – Nov. 16

This event will be presented by “Miss Black & Gold 2009” Jaimie Metellus on Monday, Nov. 16, at 6 p.m. in KOBC 201.

Special guests include a number of religious organizations on campus, including InterVarsity, Affinity, and Hillel. This program will be discussing maintaining your spirituality in college. Please come out and support Metellus as she continues work on education based platform.
