Math Education speaker – Feb. 18

Elon’s Student Chapter of NCCTM (North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics) will be sponsoring Michael Pillsbury, a math teacher at Randolph Middle School from Charlotte, N.C., to come speak on Thursday, February 18, from 4:30-5:15 in Duke 202.

Pillsbury will be doing a rope activity that was well received at the state conference that leads into �þ�� fractions. He will also be discussing with students tips about �þ�� math as well as answering student questions.

This is a great opportunity for elementary, middle grades, and secondary math pre-service teachers to hear some advice from a current teacher. There will also be free munchies.
