KCSL: Summer volunteers – CrossRoads training in July

The next Volunteer Advocate Training has been scheduled for July 15, 16, 18, 22, 23, and 25. Class starts at 6 PM at the CrossROads Sexual Assault Response and Resource Center located at 1206 B Vaughn Road, Burlington.

KCSLCE: Centro La Comunidad office coverage needed April 24, noon-4 p.m.

Centro La Comunidad needs between 1-4 volunteers to provide office support for an afternoon when many staff members will be out of the office. The volunteer would be providing “double coverage” for the other staff member who cannot be here alone. The volunteer does not necessarily have to speak Spanish but would be sitting at the front desk and unlocking the door for people who have an appointment with the staff member. This is a great way to become introduced to the organization and the community they serve with the potential for long term volunteer opportunities!

KCSLCE: Extra hands needed at Herb Festival April 26-28

The Women’s Resource Center of Alamance County needs extra hands to help out at their annual Herb Festival April 26-28. Volunteers are needed Thursday, Friday and Saturday at times ranging from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. They will help will floor managment, moving carts and loading plants in cars.

KCSL: Up to 70 volunteers needed at Spring Fling fundraiser on April 12

The fundraiser will be held at the elementary school at 3224 Old Hillsborough Road in Mebane.

It’s a carnival atmosphere and there is a need for volunteers to run each station (collect tickets, monitor safety and amount of time on rides and inflatables, etc). Volunteers will be expected to commit for the duration of the event.

There is also a need for volunteers to help take down inflatables and clean up. The event is held on the middle school football field and it needs to be cleared once the event is over.
