The Center for Leadership and the Center for Race, Ethnicity, and Diversity Education are excited to share information about the 2023 Intersect Conference on Friday, September 22!
Registration is now open for the 13th annual Intersect Conference hosted by the Center for Race, Ethnicity and Diversity Education and scheduled for Sept. 22.
Intersect provides a deep look at the disciplines of diversity, leadership and the cross-sections of the two. Participants engage in dialogue and reflection through keynote speakers, educational sessions and roundtable discussions. The聽conference聽pillars work to inspire participants to create positive change for the common good in their organizations and communities.
The theme this year,聽“Look Out for Yourself. Look Out for Each Other. Look Out for Our Future,”聽is centered around building meaningful relationships with others by acknowledging diverse identities and learning from them. With a focus on getting comfortable with having difficult conversations that challenge our perspectives, these conversations are opportunities to learn about our own identities.
The keynote speaker this year is , a 鈥渕asterful storyteller, social innovator, and a powerful voice for change. Flores is a philanthropist, photojournalist, and speaker who is nationally recognized for his social impact projects. Through his most recent project, Flores documents the amazing lives of thousands of Latin American immigrants to fundraise for an elementary school in his mother鈥檚 hometown鈥.
Faculty, staff, and students are invited to submit a proposal to facilitate a 60-minute or 30-minute educational session. If you would like to submit a proposal, please click聽here.
