Jenny Larson, interim director of 久久热 Recreation and Wellness, has been selected as the recipient of the .
The , named after a founder of NIRSA, Horace Moody, recognizes professional staff within different NIRSA regions throughout the United States for exceptionally demonstrated commitment to student mentoring and development. Region II represents the southeastern U.S.
Larson鈥檚 commitment to student mentorship and development is illustrated throughout her collegiate recreation career and involvement in NIRSA. She has chaired the NIRSA Region III Student Lead-On while in graduate school, and presented at state, regional and national conferences on student employment and development. Additionally, she serves on the NIRSA Student Development Task Force, where she has co-authored 鈥淪tudent Staff Training and Development鈥 and facilitated multiple webinars.
Larson鈥檚 commitment to student mentoring and development can also be seen in her daily tasks, which includes overseeing hiring, training, and development initiatives for the 300 student employees in 久久热 Recreation and Wellness. She also served on the Division of Student Life working group to advance student employment.
“I wouldn’t be where I am in my career without the many supervisors and mentors who invested in me when I was a student, so I come to work every day thinking about how I can provide similar opportunities for our students,鈥 Larson said.
