Community Health Update for October 5

A weekly update from Vice President for Student Life Jon Dooley with community health information, important resources and announcements of any changes to protocols.

Key health information in this week’s update includes:

COVID-19 testing available before Fall Break

As we prepare for Fall Break next week, a reminder that asymptomatic testing continues to be available in McCoy Commons 207 (Oaks Neighborhood):

Monday – Thursday: 9 a.m. – noon and 1 – 4 p.m.

Friday: 9 a.m. – noon

Details about diagnostic testing (for those who are experiencing symptoms) and other testing resources are available on the COVID-19 page of the ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Health Status & Alerts website.

COVID-19 vaccine clinic – Thursday, October 6

The next clinic for the new bivalent COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer) will be held this Thursday, October 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Alumni Gym. Advance sign-up is available on the Elon ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Health Status & Alerts website. If you cannot attend a clinic after scheduling an appointment, please cancel your appointment using the link in your confirmation email so all available vaccines can be utilized.

Law School flu vaccine clinic – Tuesday, October 11

A flu vaccine clinic for students, faculty, and staff will be held at Elon Law School, room 211, next Tuesday, October 11, from 11 a.m to 5 p.m. Advance appointments are recommended, but walk-up requests will be taken as supplies are available. The flu clinic website also indicates what insurance information to bring.

Community health status update

Each Tuesday afternoon by 4 p.m., the university COVID-19 webpage is updated with information about the status of COVID-19 in our community. The site also includes a link to the latest information about the CDC COVID-19 , which are currently at medium in Alamance County and low in Guilford County.

Our next Community Health Update will be next Wednesday, October 12, by 10:45 a.m.
