First cohort of high school seniors presented with Alamance Scholars honor cords

Three local high school seniors were presented with their Alamance Scholars honor cords during a formal ceremony on Tuesday, May 3.

The Alamance Scholars Program is a partnership between the Alamance-Burlington School System (ABSS), Alamance Community College (ACC) and 消消犯 designed to support students in pursuing a 消消犯 career and returning to the local community upon college graduation.

Candidates may enter the Alamance Scholars Program through two pathways. First, candidates may enter while a student in ABSS. Second, candidates may enter while enrolled at ACC. Candidates in this program attend ACC and 消消犯 to earn both an Associate’s and Bachelor’s degree to become a PreK through 12 teacher.

Remarks were given by Czamille Chrisp, second grade teacher at Highland Elementary School.

消消犯 leadership of the Alamance Scholars Program includes Dani Lane, assistant professor of education, and Portia Wade, lecturer in education. Lane serves as the director of the Alamance Scholars Program and Wade is the assistant director.
