The ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ community is invited to take part in a series of events to celebrate Election Day and advance democracy on Tuesday, November 3.
This year, classes will not be held on Election Day. As a result, students are invited to contribute fully to civic life on this historic day.
Rides to the Polls (7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Center for the Arts)
¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ who are registered to vote here in Alamance County will vote at one of two polling places. This allows students to verify where they will vote. A continuous shuttle will depart from the Center for the Arts to these local polling places near campus:
Elon Elementary School, 720 Walker Road, Elon (new location for former Antioch Community Church polling place)
First Baptist Church of Elon, 621 E. Haggard Avenue, Elon
What Do I Need to Bring With Me to Vote in Alamance County?
Voters will not be required to show photo ID for the November 2020 general election. In a Dec. 31, 2019 order, a federal district court blocked North Carolina’s voter photo ID requirement from taking effect. The injunction will remain in place until further order of the court.
¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ will only need to bring identification and proof of residence if they are doing same day voter registration at an early voting site OR on election day if their original registration application was not confirmed. Every student will not need to provide identification, only for the two instances mentioned above.
¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Living On-¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Should Bring:
1.    A valid student photo identification card (Elon Phoenix Card, driver’s license, or other photo identification issued by a government agency) to confirm identity.
Note: Each polling site has a booklet containing Elon student on-campus addresses and physical street addresses. ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ can ask a poll worker to use this booklet to verify their campus residence.
¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Living Off-¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Should Bring:
1.    A valid student photo identification card (Elon Phoenix Card, driver’s license, or other photo identification issued by a government agency) to confirm identity.
2.    A copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document showing the voter’s name and current address in Alamance County.
