Although many students, faculty and staff are away from campus to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the campus community still gathered to continue a long-standing Elon tradition on Tuesday.
Every Tuesday at 9:40 a.m., College Coffee brings Elon students, faculty and staff together for a few moments to take a break from the day-to-day shuffle and truly connect with the rest of the campus community.
As the COVID-19 pandemic has led Elon to transition to online learning, it’s important now more than ever to continue to promote that community building.
So this Tuesday, the Elon community continued the time-honored tradition, gathering for a virtual College Coffee across social media. Elon students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends connected all over the world, using.

Virtual College Coffee gatherings will continue every Tuesday, from 9:40 to 10:20 a.m. while students, faculty and staff are away from campus.
The idea came from the university’s new Community Building Team, chaired by Associate Director of Student Involvement Jenny Ciesiulka. The committee has planned a variety of events meant to help Elon stay connected virtually during this period of social distancing.
I think its important that we dont equate social distancing with complete isolation and that we find ways to reach out and continue to build the strong community that we have in a virtual space, Ciesiulka said.
Each week students, faculty and staff can organize virtual coffee chats with other members of the Elon community or write letters to someone based on a prompt from the weekly College Coffee email. Be sure to join us next week as virtual College Coffee continues at .
