The MTR residency program is a Master’s-level degree program for men and women of all ages and training. The MTR Residency program combines three aspects of training in order to transform Memphis urban classrooms:
- Theory: Masters in Urban Education. Through a partnership with Union University, MTR offers residents an accelerated Masters in Urban Education (M.UEd.).
- Practice: Internship. During the resident year, participants are assigned to a mentor teacher at a partner school. The internship provides the opportunity to both observe an expert teacher but more importantly, gain extensive classroom and ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ experience. Classroom expectations align with learning in the M.UEd. academic program.
- Support: Coaching and Community Life.
