Faculty and Staff Present at Research Conference

 

Several Elon faculty and staff members presented at the annual conference for the Association for the Study of Higher Education in Las Vegas.


Kim Pyne, Assistant Professor of English Education and Elon Academy Assistant Director of Academy Programs, and Darris Means, Elon Academy Associate Director, presented their research paper titled “After Access: First-generation, Low-Income ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ of Color and the Shaping of the First-Year College Identities.”

Darris Means, Katherine LaPlante, Elon Academy Assistant Director of Counseling and Family Program, and Cherrel Miller Dyce, Assistant Professor of Education, presented their research at a roundtable titled “A Phenomenological Case Study Approach to Understanding the Experiences of Families of Underserved High School ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ in a College Access Program.”

Darris Means presented his research at a roundtable titled “Black in the Rainbow? Findings on the Experiences of Black Gay Male ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ at Historically Black Colleges and Universities.”
