Three physics professors and three students attended the Nov. 19-20 regional joint meeting of the American Association of Physics Teachers and the Society of Physics ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ at UNC-Asheville.
This semiannual conference brings together physics educators and students from universities, community colleges and high schools to discuss ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ techniques and to review ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ research.
Martin Kamela, an associate professor of physics, presented a workshop on “SPS/Physics Club Leadership Development.”
Senior Robert Argue gave a talk on his summer research at the Army Research Laboratory, “Monte-Carlo Simulation to Optimize Scintillator Systems.”
Sophomore Willem Prins presented research he published with Assistant Professor Ben Evans, “Optimization of a Magnetic Nanoparticle-Polymer Composite Material for Microactuation Applications.”
