Alamance County youth to share ideas for school improvement – June 22

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ from a half dozen Alamance County middle schools will conclude the 2011 Alamance Youth Leadership Academy on Wednesday morning with presentations to parents and school leaders on how they plan to improve their building communities with potential yearlong projects for 2011-2012.

What: Alamance Youth Leadership Academy community presentations and closing ceremony
When: Wednesday, June 22, at 10:15 a.m.
Where: McKinnon Hall (inside the Moseley Student Center in the center of ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ’s campus)
Who: Forty-five students from Turrentine, Southern, Graham, Burlington Day, Clover Garden, and Hawfields middle schools

Sponsored by ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ and the Alamance County Chamber of Commerce, the Alamance Youth Leadership Academy is a three-and-a-half-day middle school leadership program dedicated to empowering youth through the connections of civic engagement and leadership development.

During this time, rising seventh graders learn about team building, effective communication, presenting skills, problem solving, and develop core leadership skills that help them identify and plan three possible improvement plans for their school.
