¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Alyse Smith Cooper organ in Whitley Auditorium throughout 2011. A series of three organ recitals is scheduled throughout the year performed by significantly known artists. The first concert given by Ken Cowan, one of America’s finest concert organists. A native of Thorold, Canada, Cowan is Professor of Organ at Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, N.J. He has been the recipient of numerous awards for his ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ and performances. Cowan received the Master’s degree and Artist Diploma from the Yale Institute of Sacred Music, studying organ with Thomas Murray. His ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ degree is from the Curtis Institute of Music where he studied with John Weaver.

Cowan’s recital on the Cooper organ will include work by Mozart, Bach, Sigfrid Karg-Elert, Louis Vierne, Camille Saint-Saens, and Marcel Dupre. The concert is free and the public is invited.
