The 15th annual ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Student Government Association’s Organization Awards and Inauguration Ceremony was held on Wednesday, March 17th, in McKinnon Hall. The ceremony is an annual opportunity for the Student Government Association to recognize student organizations, programs, and individuals for their hard work and dedication from March 2009 through February 2010.
A listing of the awards and the 2009-2010 recipients are listed below. Please join the association in recognizing their contributions and accomplishments.
- The Barbara H. Carlton Award for Outstanding Advisor of the Year: William Warihay of ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ’s Mock Trial Team
- Outstanding New Organization: Affinity
- The Reverend Richard McBride Award for ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ and Greater Community Involvement: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
- Outstanding University Organization Member of the Year: Brandon Marshall, ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Gospel Choir
- Outstanding Officer of the Year: Keadrick Peters, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
- Highest GPA: The Pendulum, cumulative GPA of 3.444 with 35 members
- Program of the Year: Get on the Bus, Kernodle Center for Service Learning
- Outstanding Organization of the Year (under 30 members): Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
- Outstanding Organization of the Year (above 30 members): ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Gospel Choir
- The Dr. Gerald L. Francis Award for Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year: Tonya Riney, Love School of Business
- Newcomer of the Year Award: Zaccai Williams, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.
- Organization Committee of the Year: Alumni Relations Committee of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity Inc.
- Outstanding Service to ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Award: Mallory Anderson, Center for Leadership
- Dr. J. Earl Danieley Leadership Award (Male): Evan Glover, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
- Dr. J. Earl Danieley Leadership Award (Female): Nneka Enurah, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
