Elon's new video security system, installed in 2008 as part of the university's campus safety master plan, is featured in the latest ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Technology magazine.
Reporter Linda Briggs describes Elon’s extensive network of video security cameras that are wired into the ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Safety and Police main dispatch center. The system gives dispatchers greater ability to watch and record traffic on campus streets and in parking lots. Christopher Waters, director of information systems and technology, is quoted in the story and explains the sophisticated video system that transports and records images via the campus data network.
