Freshmen arrive for “Adventures in Leadership”

Adventures in Leadership, a two-week summer program sponsored by the Center for Leadership and designed for incoming students, begins this week as 32 freshmen arrive at ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ to take part in the leadership development project.

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ (pictured from 2007) visit West Virginia as part of the Adventures in Leadership program.
¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ get to know each other during the Elon challenge course, rock climbing in West Virginia, whitewater rafting down the New River and through other team-oriented activities.

The program allows new students to ease into college life, make new friends and enjoy the experience of a lifetime while seeing firsthand the breathtaking scenery of West Virginia.

Adventures in Leadership is led by junior Maria Wyka, a program coordinator, and eight sophomore facilitators: Abby Bassett, Matt Reidy, Beth Cooper, Jordan McDonough, Kate Shirley, Alex Schreiner, Amanda Fish, and Amy McLeod.

Mallory Anderson, director of the Center for Leadership, advises the program.
