Elon receives U.S. Dept. of Education grant

The Love School of Business has received a U.S. Department of Education grant of nearly $150,000. Details...

The grant is one of 28 awarded nationwide under the department’s Business and International Education Program.

“This grant is a critical step in our efforts to put a greater focus on the globalization of our business curriculum,” said John Burbridge, dean of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business. “Our students and faculty will have a greater opportunity to interact with regional businesses as they work to expand their markets to other countries.”

The two year grant will allow the Love School of Business to:

– internationalize the curriculum for majors in accounting, business administration and economics;

– expand study abroad opportunities for majors in business fields;

– provide foreign language faculty with funding to offer language courses designed for business students; and

– increase international outreach programming for the regional business community.

The Love School of Business has a five-year plan that includes a strong commitment to preparing its graduates to compete in the global marketplace.

The Love School of Business offers ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ majors in accounting, economics and business administration, with concentrations in management, marketing, finance, international management and management information systems. The school also offers a graduate program in business administration (MBA).
