Master of Education degrees to be awarded August 21

Twenty students will receive master’s degrees in education from ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ during Commencement exercises at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 21 in Whitley Auditorium. The graduating class includes three international teachers who have taught in the United States through the Visiting International Faculty (VIF) program. Based in Chapel Hill, N.C., VIF recruits international teachers for schools throughout the U.S.

Barbara Bass ’61, a member of Elon’s Board of Trustees and a retired educator, will deliver the commencement address. Bass earned numerous ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ awards during a 35-year career in public and private schools in Virginia, including the 1984 National Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching.
