You are invited to take part in an exploration of Problem Based Learning in one of two workshops led by Judith Howard, Associate Professor of Education, and Tim Peeples, Assistant Professor of Professional Writing and Rhetoric.
Two sessions will be offered Friday September 19: 12:30–2 p.m. or 2:45-4:30 p.m. The sessions will be held in the Isabella Cannon Room, ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Center for the Arts Building.
Each workshop will provide an introduction to the concept of Problem Based Learning (PBL) and give you time to discuss and try out problem writing; the most important part of ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ with PBL. You should leave the workshop with a good sense of how PBL can enhance your ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ and a draft of a problem you can use in your own classes. We will also discuss opportunities for support ($250) for experimentation with PBL in your ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ. Please bring with you two or three ideas or existing activities that you might consider turning into problem based learning activity.
Please RSVP to Edie Alexander (alexande@elon.edu or x5652) so we know how many people to expect.
