April Durr, an Elon alumnus and community outreach coordinator at CrossRoads Sexual Assault Response and Resource Center in Burlington, will address the issue of sexual violence on college campuses at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12 in Yeager Recital Hall, located in the Faith Rockefeller Model Center for the Arts on the ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ campus.
¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ in Advanced Ceramics courses, taught by Mike Sanford, associate professor of fine arts, are sponsoring the event as part of Project Pericles, a new program to increase civic engagement on college campuses. ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ in these classes have been involved in fundraising for CrossRoads. Sanford hopes to raise awareness about rape and sexual assault, the second-most common violent crime committed on college campuses.
Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
